The Kraang are a recurring villainous species in various iterations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, particularly prominent in the animated series from 2012. They are a hive-minded alien race from Dimension X.
In the 2012 TMNT Cartoon, one particular Kraang, known primarily as Kraang Sub-Prime, is the main antagonist. Kraang Sub-Prime is the leader of the Kraang on Earth and seeks to conquer the planet, using mutagen to create mutants under his control. He resides in a robotic exosuit, as the Kraang species lacks a humanoid form. Kraang Sub-Prime can communicate telepathically and possesses advanced technology.
The Kraang's first appearance in the 2012 TMNT TV Show is in the first episode, "Rise of the Turtles, Part 1." They serve as a formidable threat to the Turtles throughout the series.
